Honda's Concept Flat Six Bike
Is it a Mistake

Holy Cow it's not a Cruiser but a Sport Bike

What a shame, we've been waiting for so long for a new Valkyrie. Was Honda's sales of Valkyries so disappointing that their trying a new strategy?

Now as sport bikes go this I believe is going to be awesome, from my eyeballing this machine it looks like they've done all the right things, like six throttle bodies, and my guess is all the neat upgrades to make the engine so much more than what is embedded in the Goldwing.

Back in 2005 my "underground" techs at the factory in Marysville told us they wished they could show us what Honda was building way back in their Skunk Works area. What was really weird was even back then they let us know the bike would not be released for sale until 2008, and we here at the F6Rider Store and our buddies over at Viking Motorcycle have been hanging on, just waiting for the release... It's been a long wait.

Imagine our total disappointment, it's not a cruiser. All that waiting, hanging on, pushing though declining sales. Always our hope was for a new Valkyrie to simulate new excitement in the Valkyrie community.

Just like back in 1996, Honda's Goldwing was getting long in the tooth. They still had the ability to build the 1520 motors but what to do with them? Enter Joe Boyd with the brilliant idea of using those engines to build a new bike, a new idea, use them to build the first power cruiser.

Honda created the Power Cruiser concept that so many other brands have adopted and now they are behind the curve. Honda let the concept for Power Cruiser's, the concept they invented slip away with many other brands making these types of awesome machines surpass them.

I have so many buddies, Valkyrie riders have been waiting for the new Valkyrie. Some, not being able to wait or believing there was no new Valkyrie coming (and it looks like they were right) have even jumped to other brands looking to get the power and performance the Valkyrie offered.

We here at F6Rider have been patiently waiting for the new Valkyrie to arrive. We and other vendors like Viking Motorcycle have been hanging on even with declining sales dearly hoping for Honda to get on the ball, reclaim their ultimate power cruiser status and stimulating interest and maybe even sales.

Our "underground" sources told us back in 2005 that they wished they could show us what Honda was working on for the next reincarnation of the flat six 1800cc, they said we wouldn't be disappointed, they were wrong.

So there it is as far as I can see, no new Valkyrie. As it stands it is a sad day for the Valkyrie community.
