I'm In Love
I have been riding bikes my whole life, but for 7 years I was without one. I got married and my wife wanted us to get a bike so in 2001 we bought a 1994 1100 Shadow Spirit.
Around the summer of 2003 I was out riding at night when I came across a beautiful 2000 Valkyrie Interstate. I had known about these bikes but this one caught my attention. It was all black with some accessories (highway pegs, driving lights, cobra drag pipes). There it was sitting in someone’s driveway. So after that night I would go for a ride so I could go see her till the fall. The people I guess moved because the bike was gone and after about 3 weeks without seeing it I went to get a coffee at a local Tim Horton’s (one that I don’t normally go to).
I see across the street in a motorcycle shop window this awesome looking bike. Well I don’t even know if I looked both ways before I crossed the street and jumped out of my car. To my amazement was the very same bike I fell in love with.
I was like a kid in a candy store window but it had a more intriguing interest. It had a beautiful tear drop trailer, black in color. I went in and asked about the price and the guy said it came Thursday night and by this day (Saturday) there was 6 people asking about it 3 were serious and 1 had put down $ on it.
M heart was ripped out of my chest. I told my wife about her and she said find out if there was a option for me if the guy that had put $ down on it did not want the trailer (why I don’t know) and he did not like the pipes (said they were too loud) ha ha. What a stupid thing too say (loud pipes saves lives).
My wife said tell them you want it as it sits no tinkering around for the dealership. So there I was looking at maybe my new Valkyrie. Well the guy found out how interested I was and he was going to take the trailer & pipes. Again I was very sad almost heartbroken until I found out that his wife said no if they couldn’t take the stuff off they did not want it wahooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!
The rest is history. I have owned it now since Oct 2003 I will never ever, ever get rid of it no matter what. Its loud, fast, smooth and its a head turner and if a human can be in love with something other than another human well I am in love with my Valkyrie.
Hold on to your Valks. They are the best bikes out there. The guy that traded this Valkyrie in at that dealership bought a rune. Well guess what, he wants to buy my Valkyrie back
NOT!!!!!!
Get your own if you can find one
See Ya
