You guys are something else. Thank you so much for taking the time to write in our Open Letter to Honda about this great bike. There are 277 pages going to Honda tomorrow. You guys did well. Honda knows they have a winner here. Here is how your letters stack up. Thanks, and good job! ..... Lamonster

Above is the letter Lamonster is sending to Honda. He has been in contact with the Honda guys and knows where to send this letter for most effect. I spoke with the Lamonster today and I think this is what I got from him.
The “Open Letter to Honda” was up for only 18 days when Lamont printed it out. He emptied one ink cartridge in the process. We figure there are about 700 testimonials in the 277 pages Lamont printed. Testimonials are still coming in and we’re going to leave the page up because there is some really excellent writing and thoughts about the Valkyrie there, some real good reading. So check back often as new testimonials will still be added.
Lamonster has it from his best “unofficial but trusted sources” that the Dragon Does Live and the Fat Lady hasn’t even begun to sing yet! Lamont says; “Look for a 2000cc in 2002. That is the word I have been getting.” I have come to believe in Lamont’s sources although I have no idea what they are, I’m sure they’re real good.
I’d love to start speculating. I truly believe Honda knows it has a market all to itself with the Valkyrie as there is nothing out there to compare with it. It is the Hot Rod, Asphalt Scourging, Performance Machine of the Cruisers that can also handle. Honda is going to keep it that way, your contributions to Lamont's Open Letter to Honda helps reinforces Honda's commitment to excellence in the Valkyrie. I believe in its new reincarnation the Valkyrie is going to be even more awesome…oZ

i love the valkerie, only if i can afford it.i wish ne of this days you guys from honda would raffle one.
i was able to jump on valkerie that my friend owns.i was so envious and even upto now i keep on dreaming to own one.but too bad i cant afford it. if ever i win the lottery, id buy a bike like this and would never buy anything not like it.
I shopped for five years before finally purchasing a new 2002 Valkyrie. In my mind it is the most unique motorcyle on the market. Comfort, power, handling and braking. Honda please do not allow this truly unique motorcyle to disappear from the market.
Please don't end the Valkyrie legend by turning into a modern plastic art piece, give us the same bike with a few improvements and more power!
I hear rumors of the valk going to a v-8! Yeh baby, let's be king of the hill again! Hurry up Honda.
best bike out there, why is there talk of discontinuing the valk line?
I own a 2000 Valkyrie, It's the best motorcycle ever built. If they build a FI2000cc I will definatly buy it.
I own a 1981 Honda GoldWing Interstate (GL1100). I was thinking of trading my old bike for a new 2002 Valkyrie, but I found out that Honda is not making A Valkyrie Interstate this year? As I was reading some of the comments made here,I realize that Honda is coming up with a 2000 CC!! Let me tell ya, I will wait for this new lovely Babe to show up since I'm already sold to her!!
just picked up a 00 interstate...black/red....got a great deal b/c it was a demo model...this bike is truly the best bike in the world.....

Oz, Lamont...all~ Wow! Where to begin. I've been riding motorscooters & motorcycles since age 15~I'll be 46 the 15th of this month...and have owned quite a few rides during my time (this incarnation). Two H-Ds and several Hondas amongst the throng. Well, I recently decided to buy The Fat Lady after seeing her around for a few years now...and sort of ignoring her...for whatever reason. Well, it was just time. I went looking on the internet and cruising many Honda dealers until I spied a "new" 2000 Black Standard...up in Fort Payne, AL this September 30th. The price was right! The following Wednesday, they had my 2000 Red Sabre (also a nice bike), and I had the new black fat lady! Well, I'm a really changeable person, but when I rode her the 200 miles back to Montgomery,,,I knew I was finally...after many miles on many bikes...hooked on her! I told my wife, this is my "last" bike ... into retirement! She doesn't believe me, I'm sure, but I believe me! She is awesome! I love my ride! Ciao....Socrates
Just traded my '98 GW SE for a '00 Valk IS. This is "THE MACHINE". The one additional item that I would beg, pray, and grovel for is ABS. PLEASE HONDA...ABS for Valk's.
After riding and owning at least 93 motorcycles, the Honda Valkerie engine is by far the the best on this planet!Keep it going, Honda.

I purchased a '99 black and silver standard in March of '99,have 18,000 miles to date...all trouble free, just love this bike....been on the H-D trip before, then i smartened up and went with an "origional" and never regretted it !!! I just can't imagine riding anything else. This concept of being a one of a kind motorcycle is perfect...why follow a beaten path(v-twin) when you can blaze your own trail(valkyrie)...Please Honda,DON'T STOP MAKING THE VALKYRIE !!!
Open letter to Honda Executives: If you make the 2002 2 liter, make it an 8 cylinder. Would not only be one of the best looking bikes on the road but one of the best sounding. Imagine Valkyrie looks and handling with the sound of an 8 cylinder through some aftermarket mufflers. I really like my 97 Tourer, but I could definitely be persuaded to trade up to the right 2 liter.
I got my Valkyrie Interstate in 99 and in a 1 1/2 years I have put on 25,000 + miles and most of the are weekend miles. I ride in all kinds of weather I don't care if it's raining or very hot just as so long as I am riding the valk. The handling of it is so like it is a part of me. I have started to ride it to work but I do look forward to the weekends.

Only one request. Fuel injection please!
It's hard to believe Honda could improve on the Valk (except for the seats and exhaust pipes). If they do, I hope that they will include self regulating turn-signals, maybe eom cruise control. Honda should also consider having a basic "menu" to choose from, like exhaust systems, custom seats, etc . I love my Valk so much that I'd marry "Hilda" if I could, but I've put out a lot of "big hit" bucks for stuff that could have been included in my current payment. That extra money could then be used to take even more long weekend trips then the puny 14K miles I put on this season.
I HAVE BEEN RIDING FOR 3O PLUS YEARS AND LOOK FORWARD TO MANY MORE.IN ALL THESE YEARS NONE OF MY BIKES HAVE PROVIDED THE FEELING I EXPERIENCE ON MY VALK.I THINK IT IS THE BEST BIKE ON THE PLANET AND WOULD NOT TRADE IT FOR ANY OTHER.BRING ON THE 2000cc.THEN ILL HAVE 2 !!!

My wife's brother in law has had H.D. for many years. He couldn't take the pounding they dish out on your back. He test rode a Valk and traded in his FLH on the spot. I told my wife I was buying a bike this year( I test rode his for a little 340 mile jaunt last fall in wisconsin and Michigan, love that roll on) so now the black beast is in my garage with cobra pipes on her.I love to get the looks from H.D. riders.Handling is awesome and I love to twist up the C notewhile passing others (safely ..of course )
Perhaps you may want to make Honda aware of the current issue of Big Bikes and Trikes, where my 97 Valkyrie graces the cover and is accompanied by an article written by me that was intended to be a true consumer's review of the MC. I have recieved much positive response from this here and across the sea. You may reach me at scarecrow82@earthlink.net Nathan
I've had BSA motorcycles,Triumps, but the Valk tourer 2000 is the best I've owned yet and plan on keeping it for a LONG time.
I have been riding for 30 years,on all different kinds of bikes. My last was a Yamaha 1000 Virago,it got to the point that I couldn't ride any more,at least on longer rides. The riding position was killing my back, and the vibration and rough ride was all to much to handle. So I sold my bike,no use just letting it sit in the garage. Then a friend told me about the Valkyrie and I went down to check it out, check it out I did and the next week I bought it.The best thing I ever did for my life.I feel alive again with dreams and goals for many rides,to see places I have never seen before, all by motorcycle(the Valkyrie). The lady has breathed new life into me.The best ride I have ever owned, power, smooth, great look,a mystic spirit.Bring on the 2002,my 1999 will be paid off which will make it very hard not to ride the bigger Valk.If I do I know I'll be sold.I already am just hearing the rumors.Keep up the good work and push it Honda, keep the spirit alive.....all it takes is one ride.
Honda, Thanks... Now I'll have to explain to the wife in 2002 why I have to have the new, bigger, better, faster, meaner, shinier, refined, smoother..... Well, you get the idea. No really, THANKS!!!!!!!!!!! Once a Valker, always a Valker... Paul Weber, VRCC #370, Indiana State Contact
Now what am I gonna do with my 97 Tourer...oh yeah.. that'll turn into my project bike and th e2002 2liter will be my transportation bike... yeeehawwww...bring it on big red!!!

The "Gentel Giant" When you see a pac of Valkyrie's riding accross the highway you will notice a difference. The Valkyrie's are not "look-a-like Harley's", they are different. The Valkyrie's are not meek looking, they are quiet and big and bold looking. When the Valkyerie's need to pass, "woosh" they have passed. The Valkyrie's are chrome and glissen in the light. The Valkyrie's are gental looking but very powerful. The Valkyrie's stand out in a crowd of other bikes, and everyone sees them. The Valkyrie's are big and bold, but handle with ease. The Valkyrie's are gental giants. We have both been riding for over 30 years and have usually ridden Harley's. Since we have owned our 1998 Valkyrie we are singing it's tune. Sue & Vic
I bought my 99 silver and black valk last July and just rolled over 14,000 mi. I have always ridden Honda products and the Valkryie is the best ever built. If they come out with the 2000 in 2002, I will order it today!!! The Valkryie is the only way to go!
I thought that this would be my first, last and only new bike...it has more then satisfying power in all ranges for me and killer looks always generating complimentary comments. 2002 bigger motor (0-60 in...before I left, but will I have the strength to hold on), fuel gauge, quick disconnect back rest, kickshift, "overdrive" 6th gear... I didn't think Honda can make it much better but I guess we gave them somethings to think about. Great job fellow Valksters. WOW...I think I'll be ready by then!
Well Alright! That it great news. I'm looking forward to the 2002 with 2000cc's. The Valkyrie is the best bike on the road and that will only make it better!
This will work out just fine, my 99 will be paid for and I can get a new 2002. Time to start a Dragon collection. Thanks VRCC for everything, keep up the great work.
RIDE THE DRAGON... FOREVER !! > Looking forward to 2000 cc <
Prior to the Valk I had a 1200 Wing, by choice... the one you could still see the engine and hardware... like, in my opinion, a bike should look. Glad to hear you've acknowledged the fact that you've got a WINNER! Some of the folks here want more. Me, I'm perfectly happy with the current 1520 version. If you go for the gusto that others desire, that's fine as long as you warehouse enough parts and pieces for those of us that will ride the 1520 phatlady for the next 20 years. The fat lady is in a league of her own. You don't need to flood the market, just make enough that will be sold... so we don't suffer from saturation. Fat lady fever is slowly spreading.
Got the Fat Lady Fever and don't want a cure!!
Mr. & Mrs. sheets 2 sheets 2 the wind..........................
Gentlemen,
Not much that I can say that hasn't already been said.
The 1800cc GoldWing looks okay, but there's still too much plastic for me.
My current bike is a 1999 Black & Silver Valk, my previous bike was a 1978 GL1000, and the one before that was a 1972 CB750. All Hondas, but the thing that attracted me to them the most was the fact that you could see those beautiful motors.
I would think that Honda could very easily create an 1800cc Valkyrie using many of the parts from the new Wing.
It would be a shame to discontinue the Valkyrie product line at a time when the bike is finally beginning to gain its much deserved attention. And actually, the Valkyrie is a nice complement to the GoldWing line. A Valk is kind of like "a Wing gone wild!"
Thank you for your time.

I've owned and ridden bikes since the 60's, both american and metric, big and small. My Valk is the most awesome of them all. Power, smoothness, comfort, handling, looks and dependibility, what else can you ask for?
I bought my Valk in Aug, and although I only have 1900 miles on it, I already know that it is the last bike that I will need to buy. Even if I end up wearing this one out I will have to buy a new fat lady...nothing else will do...
Ask your friend at Honda were we send the deposit to. I want one.
I have many bikes over the years, mostly Hondas but all Japanese. I am 45 and convinced my wife to let me purchase one more bike , "The Last One"!. I never had a Harley but always wanted one. I decided that it was time and was all set to purchase a Fat Boy. Days before going to the HD showroom, I stopped by the local Honda shop to buy parts for a dirt bike. I saw the Valkyrie Interstate and my first impression was it's just too big. I asked the sales person if I could take it out for a test ride and he agreed. Twenty minutes later I was sold. Within a couple of weeks I was riding my own 1999 Valkyrie Interstate. Over the last 12 months I have put 8000 miles on her and these are the best miles ever ridden. This bike is awesome and nothing could compare. II look forward to the next years of trouble free riding. (and maybe a 2000cc later down the road)
Dan
I have 6000+ miles on the '00 Interstate I bought in April. Great bike. It's an excellent combination of power, handling, and long-haul comfort. And it still looks like a bike. SO and I test rode a K1200LT, and found it underpowered and too high for stoplights (and I previously owned a Beemer, so I have considerable respect for that marque). And who can resist that flat-6 engine (which would look a little better if the pods didn't cover up that last carb). Keep up the good work!
As this is my first bike I fell in love at first site. My experience in motorcycling has been amazing and I would never trade the friends I have made and this bike ~ unless Honda made a bigger one! LOL! This is truely an awesome motorcycle that rivals all others. The thing I love the most is that the Valkyrie is the precedent for all big cruisers too follow. Keep up the good work Honda and you'll have a customer for life ~ the VRCC does.
Thanks to all and especially Lamont Bryden,
Mase
My neighbor just called from Columbus after tracking down the Wings that were being riden by the motorcycle magazine writers. He spoke with a Honda rep (Oshi? was there but doesn't speak English) and he said that there were no changes anticipated for the next several years. I hope he's wrong and Lamont is right.
Sounds like a plan to me...I'm still gonna replace my dear departed Olga, the G&C '97, with a new I/S very soon now... but a 2 Liter Valk in 2002 is also a possibility! Keep 'em coming Honda....and this H-D employee will keep buying and ridin' HONDA!!! Kliff <heli13@csranet.com>
Give us your thoughts (:
Bought a 2000 Interstate three weeks ago. Zero miles on it, got a great deal. This is a superb bike. It looks and handles great. I have always ridden Hondas and probably will continue to do so. The only thing that could make me even consider trading my new lady is if Honda came out with an 1800 or 2000cc version. Don't mess too much with the styling though - this is one beautiful lady.
