Hello Group,

I just got back from the Homecoming in Marysville. I took the motorcycle plant tour, and we toured the assembly line that produces both the V-twin and the Valk. At the end of the assembly process, the boys were putting the finishing touches on 3 black and silver 2001 Valkyries (standards...no windshields or bags).

The paint scheme is different. For the black and silver, imagine a solid black Valk, then take a 4" wide roller dipped in silver, and run it straight down the bike from the front fender to the rear. The fenders don't look too bad, but the tank looks goofy (in my opinion) with that stripe down it.  I also saw several dark blue models with the same silver stripe.

Our tour guide was asked about the engine, and he said that it had NOT changed. Outside of the paint scheme, the bike looked pretty much the same. Interestingly enough, we didn't see any trace of the Goldwings being assembled. And when we asked, the guide said that he couldn't comment. So perhaps something is up with that.

Regards,
Mike

I was waiting to buy my own Interstate, I was waiting till the Valkyrie 1800CC came out.  Guess my wait just increased. Crud, crud, crud...

The whole mission of F6Rider Webzine has been the promotion of and education on the F6C Valkyrie. It is the killer Cruiser. We want the world to know the Valkyrie and how vastly superior it is to the rest of the cruiser market.

Anyone who cares about performance + quality + value has to know about the Valkyrie.  F6Rider Webzine can't understand how a decision to buy another cruiser could be justified after people are enlightened. Prejudice, aren't we (:

WHERE BEING IGNORED:
Let face it, the Valkyrie has been virtually eliminated in the "Cruiser" rags when comparisons are done on big cruisers. Why? Well one reason could be it is an unfair comparison.

The bike handles better, out accelerates, is equal or greater in reliability, to any cruisers out there and like I said and the Cruiser magazines know or have discovered the Valkyrie dominates the cruiser class in all but a very few measurable areas.

In a recent article I read in an un-named magazine that compared cruisers, they had a version of the new Harley, which they rated #1, in the comparison, with contenders from Victory, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki and even an Excelsior... No Valkyrie, I guess their reasoning was they were comparing  big V Twins.

Another reason is of course MONEY. Honda is not the magazines only advertiser and you got to share the kudos. I truly believe these magazines aren't honest and each manufacturers offering in the cruiser market gets it share of kudos and blatantly biased reviews in the positive... Just good business not to alienate the advertisers.

F6Rider is blatantly biased positively about the Valkyrie. BUT I feel we are honest too. We have rode a lot of bikes in our time, the Valkyrie is truly amazing on its own merits.

We owe nothing to anyone. Honda completely ignores our little effort here.  And that's the way it should be. If you want a glowing piece on the Valkyrie slip by any Honda dealership and pick up there brochure (if your Honda dealership is willing to part with it, "Are you sure you are going to buy a Valkyrie, this is an awfully pretty brochure, sure would hate to waste one")...

But we review the Valkyrie warts and all. If you look through our Table of Contents your going to learn the Valkyrie is a great bike, but not without its flaws.

Honda sitting on the upgrade to the Valkyrie for another year will be a bummer. If they had upgraded the Valkyrie this year they would have had articles in all the cruiser magazines and really would have spurred sales...  I guess this is just the year of the Wing.

And maybe that's right. This version of the Wing is extremely long in the tooth.  Last year's brand new Wing looked tired on the show room floor especially if you been by BMW dealership.

So lets hope "Michigan Mike" is wrong, don't seem so though. I am now believing the Valkyrie waits another year for the killer motor. I was just so psyched and looking forward to the volumes we were going to be able to discuss this year on the new and improved Valkyrie...
