Lamont's Ride

July 98,
Caught up with Lamont in San Diego and spent the day watching him do baffle surgery. Between watching Lamont weld, cut, grind and wrench, I managed to sneek in some photos of his ride. Incredible really, Lamont has spent much time (and money I would guess) on this machine. I was really impressed with the excellent quality of all modifications done by Lamont. From fabricating a new horn mount to the superb graphic on the tank this bike is show quality. The saddle bags are custom build by Lamont and even the backrest has been modified and improved. Notice the forks are black which accents the theme of the bike. There are to many modifications to show and I cant do them all here, but this bike is a well of ideas and I wonder if Lamont has spent more time riding or modifying, I think he enjoys both equally!

Thats what it said on the pack. They did help give me what I was looking for and I did not have to do anything to the cable. List price was 89.95

Here is a shot of the Rushjaw foot peg mounts. What do I think, eh. I think I will probably have my stock ones chromed and sell these.

J.C. Whitney Floor Boards; They were very easy to install and fit well, they are made for a GW and not for a Valk so I did have to cut off about 3/8" of the shifter to get it to shift right. It would shift before I cut it but to dial it in just right I cut the shifter and rewelded it. I put another small peg on the back of the heel toe shifter so I could speed shift better. If I loose any ground clearance it isn't much. I do scrape the boards from time to time but I did that with the pegs too. As far as comfort goes I think they are great, they are nice and big. I parked next to a guy with the Cobra boards and they were quite a bit smaller. The boards on the crash bars are J.C. boards too. They were 29.00 and you can adjust them however you want and they won't come loose on you. Since those pics I have angled them back one more notch and I can rest the back of my foot on the front boards and lock my foot right in a great place. I don't know what else to tell you but they have been a big part of making my bike a very comfortable ride. Hope this helps. respond.GIF (3153 bytes) back
