Avon Tire Report

I bought my Avon Fat Freddie and Venom tires from Hal just one week before my 2,000 mile, 4 day ride, through Washington, Idaho, Montana and Wyoming. I was rained on for all but one day of my trip. 

These tires are awsome. They are the best I have ever had on my on my bike (4 manufactures). My most fun was pulling up alongside HDs that were leaned over in 40+ mph mountain curves and literally accelerating away from them in the curves. Several times I had done this and stopped on down the road, only to have the HD riders stop and ask about that big rear tire. Several said it was all they could see as I passed them in the curves. 

They were impressed that it was an Avon, since many HD riders use Avons. I can only speak for my experiences, but I feel these tires are the best I have ever rode on that were on the Lady. She is so much more sure footed with the Avons that I could hardly believe it and thought I was just dreaming it. 

The VRCC and Hal had (have) a great price on them and there is no problem mixing bias with radial. The Fat Freddie fits great on my Tourer with NO modifications. Wet traction is great and so is everyday riding. I have 3,000 miles on mine already (July 1 - August 1) and they are wearing much better than my last  Bridgestones (>12,000 on them). Check them out!
