Harold (the guy making off with the helmet on the previous page) turns 50 a few days before we arrive. Now while it's true, most of us eventually turn 50, Harold didn't exactly make it easy on himself. So making it to 50 was not a forgone conclusion.
So Ride With Us To Tehachapi, have some Cake & Ice cream (presuming Dottie's shopping trip was successful) and celebrate Life (Yours, Harold's & Everyone's).
We meet at Cycle Gear, at the Lyons exit off the 5 Fry., 0830-0930 (24508 Lyons Ave., Newhall 661-255-6522).

See, Some Of Us Are Waitin' There Already
(A Valk model goes to the first person who identifies the
Ride during which this Pic was taken and e-mails)
From Cycle Gear, we ride to Brunch at The Rock Inn (17539 Lake Elizabeth Rd, Lake Hughes, 93532, 661-724-1855).
Then it's off to Willow Springs (the track) for a look see.

After that we ride through the California Poppy Reserve (if their still blooming), or......
......over Oak Creek Pass (yes it may be windy) and into Tehachapi for cake and ice cream.

And if that's not enough riding for you, if we have a clear day, Harold will take us on the 26 mile loop that overlooks the San Juaquin Valley!

Harold and Dottie are in Golden Hills (about 3 miles from Tehachapi) at 22721 Westwood Blvd., Tehachapi, 93561 (661-822-3316) in case you want to go there direct.
If you're coming from along way off or just want to make a weekend of it, we can recommend the Best Western Mountain Inn (416 W. Tehachapi Blvd., 661-822-5591) or the Tehachapi Summit Travel Lodge (500 Stueber, 661-823-8000). For details, room rates and maps for both, go here. If you want to camp, get in touch with Harold (on the Board) & he can fill you in on the particulars.
