In late October early November Lamont designed and posted an open letter that our members could add their own thoughts to. When printed the letter was over 10 pounds with 260+ pages.

Read letter to Honda here Letter to Honda

The following was Posted by LaMonster on Mon - Nov 13 - 3:35pm:

I would like to thank all of you that took the time to respond to this call to action. I told you that I would make sure that Honda saw this, and they did. Not only did my contact read a lot of the letters but he made sure that the pile got to the right desk after he got done with them. I can't tell you who I talked to, but I can say that he is someone "in the know" at Honda. If he says it is so, it is so. Did we change Honda's mind because of our letters, I doubt it. I think their mind was made up way before we wrote these letters, but it did confirm to them that they did the right thing. And I think that it may of showed them the kind of following we have for this bike.

This is what we talked about when he called. First off he couldn't understand where we were getting our info. There is NO plan of Honda getting rid of the Valkyrie at all. They do plan on reducing the Valkyrie line to one or two models but they have NO plan on getting rid of the line. What I was told is, yes they made too many Valkyries in 98 but that was not because the sales were weak. One thing that Honda likes to do is keep there plant guys working. If they dropped the Valkyrie line a lot of their folks would be out of a job. Honda wants to make more bikes and keep their people working. The Valkyrie has set a standard in the motorcycle industry for the power cruiser, they know that and plan on keeping that image. I asked if we were going to get a bigger motor than the GW and he wouldn't say for sure but he did chuckle as if to say ( Just wait and see). From what I have heard from other folks "in the know" is, that new Valkyrie will be a 2000cc motor. I do not know if this is for sure or not but I do believe that not only will the Valkyrie be around for a long time, but it will be bigger and better than it is now. LaMoster says don't worry, be happy :-)
